## Transcript

A good way to read numbers. Uh, someone else, I forget who, uh, described numbers as the book of leadership in terms of focusing on Moses.

Uh, that's, that's the other, uh, dramatic and, and really wonderful way to read numbers is the spotlight it gives on Moses

as the leader of God's people. Uh, it's not for no reason that some think he's the paradigm for the suffering servant.

Um, even as then the suffering servant points to the Lord Jesus Christ, what he endures, uh, you know, there's a point where they want to stone him

and then go back to Egypt. They slander him. Miriam and, and Aaron, his own siblings slander him in chapter 12, um,

his interceding on behalf of Israel with, with God. It's, you really get to know Moses sympathize for him, and at the end of the day, he's excluded from the land.

Nobody prays on his behalf. None of the people say, oh, but God let him in. Um, he's a tireless worker

and in many ways shows what a good man of God is, including the fact that we sin, but he's chastised by God

and, and he's humbled by it. Um, he, we get the whole book of Deuteronomy after he's excluded. Uh, in the light of his own approaching death, he,

he still strives an intercession for the people of God. He's so exemplary and he's someone we can relate to

because again, he's not perfect. He, he sins, but, um, he is such a, such a man of God. And so that, that's just for the life of Moses alone.

The book of numbers is, is so precious and I think a lot of pastors who struggle will find in him,

um, a kindred spirit.
