## Transcript

How should seminaries support the church, look to the church, listen to the feedback that the church provides? Well, hopefully in all of those ways, the church is going to have an insight into the spiritual well-being of its students, probably better than the seminary does. They've got a prior relationship with that person. Hopefully they are sending them to the seminary with prayer support, maybe as a candidate for future ministry at that particular local church.

The seminary needs to be attentive to the news from the ground, to the news from the front. That's why we liaise with pastors, we talk with them, we ask for a pastoral endorsement. We try to have an ongoing conversation so that these students are well-cared for, well-understood, well-listened to, and one of the best ways to get that information is to hear from their churches.
