George Addison Baxter

George Addison Baxter was an American Presbyterian minister, theologian, and educator who served as President of Washington & Lee University for three decades and later as Professor of Theology and acting President at Hampden–Sydney College’s Union Theological Seminary. He was a prolific author and influential leader in early American higher education and church life, shaping both academic institutions and theological training in the early 19th century.
