John McLaughlin Armour, D.D. (February 5, 1847 – January 22, 1930) was a prominent Presbyterian minister, educator, and church leader who served congregations in Ohio and Pennsylvania after completing his theological training and was widely respected for his pastoral zeal and administrative skill. He held influential positions within the denomination, including Presbyterian Board of Publication leadership and service as Moderator of the General Assembly, and was known for his thoughtful sermons, published writings, and commitment to doctrinal fidelity. Armour’s long ministry spanned decades of growth and change in the American church, and he was honored with an honorary Doctor of Divinity in recognition of his contributions to Presbyterian life.
