William Madison Anderson, Sr.

1862–1924

William Madison Anderson, Sr. (1862–1924) was an American Presbyterian minister who served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee from 1901 to 1910 before later leading congregations in Dallas, Texas, and contributing to church life through published sermons and pastoral writings such as Home Missions in Texas (1899) and Some Hints on Pastoral Visiting (1902). He was actively engaged in home missions and pastoral education within the Presbyterian Church, leaving a mark through both his preaching and practical guidance for ministers. Anderson was buried in Oakland Cemetery in Dallas, where his years of pastoral service were honored after his death in 1924.
