Among Christian confessional statements, the Westminster Standards are unsurpassed in precision and comprehensiveness. Few would deny that they deserve close reading and careful study. However, the breadth and depth of the Standards can be overwhelming. Indeed, most of the material contained in the Standards remains in relative obscurity and neglect. Dr. Morton H. Smith’s Harmony is intended to remedy this situation by presenting the Standards in a more easily accessible format. I keep this parallel text within reach whenever I study the Westminster Standards. This revised version more consistently follows the order of topics presented in the American version of the Confession of Faith. It also presents for the first time a parallel text with the scriptural proofs as revised by the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and used by the Presbyterian Church in America. I am delighted to see Log College Press bringing this improved resource into print, and I heartily recommend it as an essential addition to the library of every presbyterian church officer and seminarian.
