William Addison Alexander, D.D. (January 19, 1857 – November 15, 1909) was an American Presbyterian minister and church leader born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, who confessed his faith at fourteen, graduated from the University of Mississippi, and completed theological training at Princeton Seminary before being ordained in 1879. He served a series of pastoral charges in Mississippi, including Lexington, Yazoo City, and Canton, and later became Professor of Biblical Literature at Southwestern Presbyterian University in Tennessee, a position he held until his death, all while actively serving in church judicatory roles such as stated clerk of the Presbytery of Central Mississippi and of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church South. Alexander received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Davidson College in 1896, published historical addresses, and was buried in Clarksville, Tennessee.
