Robert Baird was an influential American Presbyterian minister, evangelist, and author who graduated from Jefferson College and Princeton Theological Seminary, served in various mission and educational roles, and spent many years promoting Protestant Christianity throughout continental Europe. He also worked as an agent for major religious societies such as the American Sunday School Union and wrote several widely read religious and historical works.
