Willis Judson Beecher was a noted professor of Hebrew language and literature at Auburn Theological Seminary and an influential biblical scholar. He delivered the prestigious Stone Lectures at Princeton in 1902 (published as The Prophets and the Promise) and authored several works on Scripture and theology, including The Teaching of Jesus Concerning the Future Life and Drill Lessons in Hebrew.
