Letters Concerning the Constitution and Order of the Christian Ministry

Samuel Miller defends Presbyterian church order, arguing there is one order of gospel ministers (pastors/elders/bishops) and rejecting diocesan episcopacy and prelatic authority.

The second professor at Princeton Theological Seminary, Miller was a prolific writer, and diligent minster of the gospel, who was widely recognized as a leader in 19th century American Presbyterianism. Many of his works remain in print today.
