Dr. Sprague replies to Prof. Stuart defending the use of fermented wine at the Lord’s Supper, arguing from Scripture, temple practice, and early church example.

A prolific preacher and author, Sprague is also known as the “Patriarch of American Collectors,” for his collection of autographs, including those of every signer of the Declaration of Independence, pamphlets and other materials. He authored the Annals of the American Pulpit, an important collection of biographical sketches.
